Kord Receives ESGR Award for Supporting Guard and Reserve Employees
Huntsville, Alabama – June 18, 2020 – Kord, a Centauri company, announced today that it has been recognized with an Above and Beyond Award by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) for providing its Guard and Reserve employees additional, non-mandated benefits such as differential or full pay to offset lost wages, extended health benefits, and other similar benefits. The Above and Beyond Award is presented on behalf of the men and women of the National Guard and Reserve Forces for outstanding service and continuing support to the National Defense.
“While we have several contracts where we provide direct support to the National Guard, we are especially mindful to ensure that we take care of our many employees and ensure that their families are taken care of so that they have less to worry about when they are serving in the Guard or Reserves,” said Scott Schnorrenberg, VP of Missile Defense at Centauri.
In addition to military leave when Guard and Reserve employees are required to report for duty, Kord offers flexible monthly timesheets, floating holidays, industry-best medical benefits, and competitive paid time off for employees.
The Above and Beyond Award is presented by ESGR State Committees to recognize employers at the local level who have gone above and beyond the legal requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act. Kord has been awarded an ESGR Patriot Award for the past two years, but this marks the company’s first Above and Beyond Award, which are determined by nominations from Service members wishing to recognize their employers for their exemplary support.
“This award speaks highly of both our employees and our company culture that our Guard and Reserve employees would choose to submit Kord for this recognition,” said Schnorrenberg.

ESGR is supported by a network of more than 3,600 volunteers in 54 committees located across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam-CNMI (Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands), Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Volunteers, hailing from small business and industry, government, education, and prior military service bring a vast wealth of experience to assist in serving employers, Service members, and their families. Together with Headquarters ESGR staff and a small cadre of support staff for each State Committee, volunteers work to promote and enhance employer support for military service in the Guard and Reserve.
