Command and Control

Working with our Government leads and industrial partners, Centauri teams define, allocate and trace requirements, guide mission architecture development, oversee the Integration,

    Verification, Validation and Testing (IVV&T) of complex spacecraft Command & Control systems across a variety of sensor phenomenology. Sub-disciplines include leadership of Integrated Product Teams (IPT) developing Tasking Management, Mission Planning & Scheduling, Command and Telemetry (C&T), Launch and Initialization (L&I) and Spacecraft Survivability & Protection. Centaurians coordinate integration and test activities across multi-discipline teams at the component, sub-System, system and enterprise levels. We are given great responsibility by the US Government customers in serving as designated government witnesses for requirements verification and sell-off and as part of the L&I Team during spacecraft launch, Initialization and anomaly operations.

     

    Our Approach

    Centauri excels at Command & Control because we have strong teams with a wide variety of experience across the space, defense and Intelligence communities. We apply proven technical engineering discipline to complicated problems across many different customers missions. Often, we have to take a pragmatic approach to mission integration and sustainment which differentiates our team from the more traditional contractors.

     In recent years, Centauri team members have evolved our Scaled Agile Frameworks for Enterprise (SAFe) implementation approaches to adapt commercial software development practices to the unique challenges of the Government customer decision processes and life cycles. Centauri subject matter experts oversee billion-dollar software development, testing, deployment and rapid evolution through the Development Operations (DevOPS) model through a full spectrum of large, medium and small spacecraft/satellite operations.

    Centauri provides engineering and program office support to the SLS Program at HSV, MSFC, Stennis Space Center, and Michoud Assembly Facility.     Systems Engineering and Integration

    Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) is a disciplined approach for aggregating multiple subsystems into a complete whole that delivers the capabilities, products, and services the customer requires to complete their mission. It is a multi-phase process involving requirements definition, implementation, integration, test, verification, and operations. Satisfaction of stakeholder functional, physical and operational performance requirements is paramount, but cost and schedule constraints must also be strictly observed. SE&I includes both engineering and technical management activities, and brings together component subsystems into one system, ensuring they function together as intended, in the environment in which they were intended to operate.
